On February 18, 1913 - one hundred years ago today - President of Mexico Francisco I Madero was arrested by treacherous General Victoriano Huerta. On the 22nd, Madero was killed "trying to escape." Thus ended the political career of the man who defied Porfirio Diaz and launched the Mexican Revolution, only to see events spin out of his control.
